Description:
The LaSalle Bed & Breakfast Inn and historic Sion Bass House, located just one block from the Allen County Public Library and directly behind Fort Waynes downtown Starbucks, have been welcoming travelers with clean, comfortable and affordable lodging since 2003. The main house was built in 1901 by a Fort Wayne home builder for himself. The home has been restored and cared for by its present owners since 1990, preserving its unique Queen Ann neo-classical architecture while adding the modern conveniences of todays world. The Inn is regularly rated as the top value in lodging in central Fort Wayne considering both price and quality of service. Though a great place to retreat to each evening, it is an even better place to wake to each morning. Breakfast is where you, our guests, can sit down with innkeepers and staff over a home-cooked meal in charming surroundingswhether you are on business from China, researching your family history at the library, or are local residents on a getaway in their own hometown. Private tables also are available if you just want to read the morning newspaper or have a reunion with friends. And if you are a very early riser or are in a hurry, a gift certificate at Starbucks can be included for you in the regular price.
The Sion Bass House is, the historic 1842 home of Fort Waynes most celebrated Civil War hero Sion Bass, has been added to the LaSalle B&B Inn. Fort Waynes only bed and breakfast is now a destination bed and breakfast. Including jacuzzis, steam spa showers, free WiFi, internet TV with Netflix, fireplaces, and top-of-the-line water filtration, and superb sound insulation against downtown traffic. It offers the finest amenities in the city according to the independent judgment of persons knowledgeable of the local hospitality industry, both at Fort Wayne Newspapers and the local Indiana University Hospitality Services Department. (The only way we do not exceed the amenities of larger hotels is the lack of a swimming pool, of large conference facilities, and of a fitness center. However, we have twice the number of jacuzzis as the only downtown hotel that has any at all, and construction of a fitness room will begin shortly.) With greater amenities, a room or suite in the Sion Bass House is not greater than merely a room at a large downtown hotel. But since the main building remains moderately priced, the LaSalle B&B Inn has something to offer for a range of budgets.
